My most recent single

was written as part of Miles of Music's Imperfectionist Song Society.

The prompt given was to "write a song inspired by mythology."
I chose urban legends, which have always fascinated me.

Many of the references for this song were pulled from the visceral memories I have of reading The Big Book of Urban Legends: Adapted from the Works of Jan Harold Brunvand by Robert F. Boyd (Jr.) and Robert Loren Fleming.

I realized in beginning this song that the “Creepy Killer in the Shadows” character fell on a compelling part of the Horseshoe of Bad Men, which is to say, right opposite with the “Male Lead in Romantic Comedy Films.”

This song examines that connection and I really believe (and not just because it would be great for my streaming numbers) that every man should hear this song and consider that concept. Especially before he does something awful like sky writing or not holding his peace at a wedding.
